Spectrum Trio - Wedding Reception Option

Spectrum Trio began in early January 2025, when we were invited to bring a smaller group to perform for a wedding show at one of the venues that we perform at often (The Noble).  The three of us really enjoyed this format and were especially encouraged by comments from the other professional wedding vendors who were presenting at the show.  We realized that we have something here.  Electronic percusson was added to the mix and after several performances we started exploring the types of events Spectrum Trio would be a great fit for, like; 

- Live Music for smaller, more intimate events, both public and private

- Cocktail Sets

- Jazz Sets

- Wineries/Restaurants

- Smaller Wedding Receptions

Spectrum Trio 

Spectrum Trio is derived from Spectrum Band, which has performed for over 1000 wedding receptions since 1997, and continues to be one of the sought-after bands for wedding receptions in the St. Louis area.  Spectrum Trio is a perfect option for couples that want fun live music for their reception, but are looking for a different vibe over the traditional big party atmosphere.  

Spectrum Trio's "footprint" is considerably smaller than most bands, including a small (but highly effecient) sound system and limited lighting set up.  We've designed Spectrum Trio to be a both a cocktail group, a dance group, and we offer a full set of vocal and instrumental jazz.  Naturally, being a trio our song list is limited, however we can't help ourselves and are developing a unique song list specifically for the trio that can be found on our webpage.  Our song list is constantly evolving and growing and we are open to your suggestions!

Can we dance to your trio?  Yes, we highly encourage dancing, which is the biggest reason why added the element of a drum machine.  We know how important live music and dancing is to having fun and celebrating, and this group is definitely one that you can dance to!

Wedding Reception Options

Cocktail Trio - Spectrum Trio is a great choice for a cocktail trio.  Our set up is small.  We combine our popular jazz selections with some laid back and fun pop and country tunes, definitely music for mingling and chatting.  Our cocktail sets provide an element of class and sophistication to cocktails for those looking for that live music element for their guests.  

Spectrum Trio is available as a cocktail trio for either receptions we are performing (as Spectrum Trio or as Spectrum Band) as an Additional Option when hiring the band for your reception or depending on availability, Spectrum Trio may be available as a cocktail trio for receptions that the band isn't performing for.  Contact us today for availability and more information!

Dinner Trio  - Spectrum Trio's dinner selection falls more in the jazz category with songs by Etta James, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, etc.  We love this music and it's a joy to have the opportunity to perform it.  For those that are fans of this style of music, our dinner trio is a great option for you and your guests.

Reception Trio - Spectrum Trio might be a perfect fit for a smaller/intimate reception of 100 or less, especially in venues where the bigger band might not fit or could be overpowering.  You are welcome to look through our song list and give us your favorites!  We also will combine our performance with DJ Style music over the iPad (your playlist or ours) to play during breaks.  We often get request for a mix between a live band and a DJ, if this is something you are interested in, contact us today for availability and more information!

Included with all Wedding Reception Bookings

Like with Spectrum Band, we do offer additional services for wedding receptions that are included in our fee.  These services are included when you book Spectrum Trio for your reception; 

• Emcee Services - We're happy to help you out with introductions, announcements, speeches, and any thing else you need during the event.
• Use of Our Wireless Mics - You are welcome to use our wireless mics for speeches.  We typically have 2 at every reception.
• "DJ" Style Music played during breaks - Given that we have a smaller song selection, we're happy to mix in DJ Music time into your reception.  We'll work with you on how long, and what music you want played when the band isn't performing.  It's a "best of both worlds" sort of scenario, where we'll work together to customize your reception how what you want!
• Wedding Consultation - We work with approximately 30 wedding couples a year.  We can walk you through our process, but most importantly we want to hear from you what your vision is for your wedding day, and help you achieve that on your big day!

Additional Servies Available

• Ceremony Sound - Providing mics for your officiant and groom for wedding ceremony, including up to 2 Lavalier Mics, 2 Wireless Mics on a stand, and iPad music for your ceremony song selections
• Ceremony Musicians/Vocalist - Add a ceremony guitarist and/or vocalist to perform at your ceremony
• Uplighting - Uplighting for your reception room, up to 16 battery powered lights, mutliple color options
• Post-Party "DJ" Style Music - For those post reception parties where you need some music and a DJ style system to keep the party going!  Priced per hour.
